I planned my next day to check out a French museum of which I heard a lot from my French friends online. I left my hotel early and it took about 50 to 60 minutes for me to arrive at the museum
which is called Musee Rodin
in France. Travelling through the empty roads of Paris early morning gave me many photographic moments that I have captured in my camera.
Just when I entered the premises of the museum, my eyes got stuck on the popular sculpture of Rodin which is given the name The Thinker. Right at the beginning I became a fan of Mr. Rodin. There was another sculpture that inspired me, it was Gates of Hell. Well, I can say that my camera was smiling as it got a lot of impressive stuff to capture.
While I was wandering in the museum and capturing pictures, there was a lovely local group of friends who gave me handful of knowledge about the entire place. I was surprised to know from them
that there are 6,600 sculptures in total, all made by Rodin.
All the sculptures are made of different materials such as plaster, wax, terracotta, stoneware, molten glass, marble and bronze. When I came in front of the sculpture The Kiss, I stood there for more than a couple of minutes. The romantic girl hidden inside me came out for few minutes, and I was imagining a French kiss with my dream lover.
Moving on, my fellow new friends told me than Rodin Museum is not just popular for sculptures but also for the drawings. Looking at some of his drawings felt like the pictures would get real at
any moment. I loved all the beautiful paintings and wanted to take a couple of them back home. Though I couldn’t do that, but thankfully I gathered all the pictures to show them to my
The museum also hosts a number of lectures, classes and programs, hence coming here with kids would be enlightening for them as well. My day was spent thoroughly and I couldn’t ask for more. I would never forget my day at Musee Rodin!
