Even though I had already visited one museum in Paris, but my next destination was a different kind of museum. Well, I was still under the spell of the beauty of the Eiffel Tower.
However, holidays are about exploring new places and experiencing new things in life. With the same quest, I prepared the plan to check out the Army Museum France.
Located in Paris, this museum is quite different from the ones that I have visited in the past, even in India. Basically known as the Musee de l’Armee, it is a nationalized military museum that showcases the history of French military. Located at Les Invaldies, which is in the seventh arrondissement of the city, this museum attracts thousands of tourists every year.
After transferring the photos from my DSLR to the laptop, I went straight to the washroom, took a shower, and dressed myself up. Fortunately, I had already informed the hotel manager about my visit to the army museum. He was quite kind and had arranged a cab in the morning. Wasting no time, I hopped inside the cab and left for the destination.
The morning was bright and the breeze was perfect. With the quest to explore the history of the French military, my mind raced towards the
destination, and so was the cab. The time passed quite swiftly, and by 11 in the morning I was at the main entrance of the army museum.
As I went inside the army museum, the enormous size of the building completely amazed me. Somewhere inside the building I read that the entire building is spread across a huge area of 12,000 square meters! The number of artifacts stored inside this museum is close to 500,000! No doubt, as I started exploring the artifacts, I got to know more and more about the history of French Military.
It was the year 1905 when the Army Museum France was established. Since then, it has been one of the prime symbols of the French Military. It took me almost two hours to walk through the collections inside the museum. In the end, I felt more knowledgeable and wise.
