Upon interacting with the front desk staff the previous day I had decided to visit the Regional Science Center Bhopal. During childhood and school I wasn’t so fond of science but hearing about this place really intrigued me.
The science center is located in Bangana road of Shyamala hills and it took me almost 30 minutes from my hotel to reach there.
The front desk staff had told me about the timings and entry fees of the centre. They told me that the center would remain open from 10.30 in the morning till 6 in evening and the entry fees is just Rs.10.
I found it really amazing that in just Rs. 10 one can actually get to know so many amazing things about science.
The science museum is huge and has a lot to check out, it has a planetarium along with 200 exhibits which display stuff from light, sound, energy, mechanics, and atmosphere. It is divided into 3 phases- fun gallery, energy gallery and umbrella gallery.
The first phase was my favorite as it included jumping disk, plasma globe, liquid painting, spinning eraser, frozen shadow, and many more to name.
The umbrella gallery was the next it displayed the importance of life on earth and how unique our planet is. It consisted of exhibits concerning
air pressure, gas laws, transformation, and lot more.
Last phase was energy gallery which displayed the need of energy resources, environmental concerns, applications and what has to be done in order to preserve nature. Some of the topics explained were nuclear fission, sear power, hydro electric, solar car, and others.
Even though I have visited number of science museums of India, I personally really enjoyed visiting this one. The displays were quite interesting and informative. One can spend a great time learning here. It is a great place for parents to come here with kids.
