Famous Cuisine of Patna - Litti Chokha - An Admirable Culinary to Savor

Whenever I wish for the famous cuisine of Patna - Litti Chokha, my salivary glands get active and I can’t resist of savoring it. From all the way to Patna I was recalling the moments when I savored the culinary at the time of my school days. Yes, it was a school excursion that took place when I was in the 9th standard. All of my friends were the critics of this particular cuisine. But it was me who took the initiative to taste it for the first time. And you know what the verdict was? I felt spellbinding! I liked the platter so much that I ordered for one more and relished the same with familiar feeling.

This time I undoubtedly planned to have them number of times till my stay in Patna. The dependant school girl in me was transformed into a cooking lover. Now I am talented enough to prepare the food of my taste. After reaching the famous stall of Litti beside Golghar I asked the man to serve the delicious platter of Litti with Chokha as must. He was surprised to see me asking for Litti as he could well recognize me as non-Bihari and I belong to some other state.

With a hidden smile he served me with the cuisine. You won’t believe friends; it was out of this world. On asking the recipe of this mouth-watering culinary he explained me thoroughly. He said that Litti’s dough is prepared with wheat flour, carom seeds, curd, baking soda, salt and ghee. Till now it was interesting and was deep seated in my mind. Further, he explained that the dough is stuffed with roasted gram flour, ginger, green coriander, cumin seeds, carom seeds, mustard oil, lemon juice, salt as per taste and pickle spices to enhance its flavor.

His explanation made me get one more plate of famous cuisine of Patna- Litti Chokha. Wasn’t it admirable for a foodie like me? I thanked him from the core and paid him some extra penny for the delicious dish. He seemed happy and asked me to visit his stall again. I was touched by the words he stated. Having my hunger cravings at bay, I moved further for the nearby attraction Patna Golghar.
